Behind The Seams with A.K. RIKK’S – Brittany

Today as a part of our Behind The Seams with A.K. RIKK’S series we’d like to introduce our Director of Marketing, Brittany Milnes. She is the newest member to join our family. Brittany finds digital marketing fascinating, as she explains, “The digital landscape is always changing and I want to be on the forefront of what is the most impactful way to market to consumers.” Get to know why Brittany loves the connection between customers and brands through a series of questions in our fourteenth Behind The Seams with A.K. RIKK’S interview.

What inspires you about the fashion industry?

What inspires me about fashion is how creative the industry is. I am amazed season after season designers are still able to come up with new concepts, new patterns, and new designs. I admire designers unique viewpoints and the details that go into making every outfit special. The industry is always changing and I love to see what’s next. 

Who is your style muse?

Blake Lively! Her style is modern, fashion forward and unique. She has an eclectic fashion sense where she doesn’t stick to just one style. She isn’t afraid to wear bold colors, patterns and different shapes. She always wears something unexpected which keeps it fresh and fun.

Favorite travel destination and why?

Exuma has been my favorite destination yet because of it’s beauty, it’s culture, and of course the swimming pigs! It is a rather desolate island which makes it that much more peaceful. I would be the only one on the white sand beach in the morning and got to enjoy the beautiful blue sea. Beyond its beauty, the people are so friendly and laid back – I remember asking a man if he ever gets stressed living on the island and he said “Never because there is always tomorrow!”. If you get a chance to go, you must take a boat tour to Big Major Cay to see the swimming pigs! 

What intrigues you about marketing?

I love being able to discover people’s interests and connecting them with products and services they love. It’s interesting to see at what point a brand resonates with a consumer, it starts with awareness but eventually that consumer needs to be inspired by that brand for them to take action. The key is finding what inspired them and to continue doing that to create brand advocates.

How do you continue to increase your knowledge within your craft?

Books, research, training courses and connecting with others in Marketing. I try to learn anywhere, anytime with anyone.
