Today as a part of our Behind the Seams with A.K. Rikk’s series we would like to introduce you to one of our Personal Shoppers, Hannah Wilson. Hannah has been a valuable part of the A.K. Rikk’s family for 8 months! “Being from New York, I was so happy to find a place that fosters creativity and being unique!” We asked Hannah what brought her to A.K. Rikk’s and what makes her tick during her interview!
How did you originally discover A.K. Rikk’s?
I heard of A.K. Rikk’s through word of mouth when I first moved to Grand Rapids. I remember walking into my interview and immediately feeling the warm energy from the team. Everyone was so welcoming, my nerves about interviewing instantly went away!
What was the first piece you fell in love with at A.K. Rikk’s?
It was a pair of Valentino Rockstud pumps in a camel color! The moment I saw them I knew I had to have them!
What is one of your favorite memories during your time at A.K. Rikk’s?
Definitely our 30th Anniversary celebration; being able to attend such a beautiful event to honor the store’s incredible achievement was something I will never forget.
What was the first piece of luxury fashion you ever owned?
When I graduated college my parents bought me an iconic Chanel bag as a graduation gift! I’ve loved Chanel since I was little and have read a ton of her biographies. A lot of people don’t realize that Gabrielle Chanel was forced to wear black and white to school as a child to identify the fact that she was an orphan. She built a fashion house with the two main colors being black and white, so wealthy people would start wearing them too. I think that idea is brilliant.
Who are your style icons?
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are my style icons! I love their cool twist on minimalistic style. They are also all about proportions and I love oversized everything!
What are your three favorite pieces in your wardrobe?
My Chanel Bag, my Chloé Nile, and my Saint Laurent red crocodile bag… can you tell I love accessories? I want to build a huge collection to pass on eventually.
That concludes this Behind the Seams with A.K. Rikk’s interview. Next time you stop in, be sure to say “hello” to Hannah!
