What’s on your…
October 25, 2013
I saw this little post from Marie Claire magazine, interviewing Alexa Chung and knew this is absolutely something we should do so you can learn a little bit more about our staff.
Let’s start with our Director of Women’s: Emily Hughes.
Emily what’s on your…
MIND: A million things at any given time but mostly work and my never-ending list of things to accomplish, and usually some random song lyrics. Last night it was What the Fox Say… this morning it is Drake- don’t ask me why. I blame Matt Sova for most of the stupid songs that get stuck in my head.
LAST CREDIT CARD STATEMENT: Herve Leger cocktail dress; my Halloween costume. I try my best to be a cash-only kind of girl but sometimes a splurge (or a ridiculous costume) is necessary.
NETFLIX QUEUE: Orange is the new black, House of Cards
iPHONE APP LIST: My Fitness Pal (gotta fit into that Herve); Weather
LIST OF CHARITIES YOU SUPPORT: The Humane Society, the Children’s Hospital, and the American Cancer Society- I’m a sucker for helpless animals and children. My brother is a leukemia survivor, and cancer has affected the lives of so many people I am close to so this one hits home as well.
WALLS OF YOUR FAVORITE ROOM IN YOUR HOUSE: It’s a tie. In our bedroom I have a collage of pictures of Joe and me and all of the places
we have been and trips we have taken together. In our dining room I have a picture of us on our wedding day surrounded by the well-wishes from our closest friends and family. Also framed are handwritten lyrics to our first dance: You are the best thing, Ray LaMontagne.
FANTASY ITINERARY: “Itinerary” made me think of a cruise itinerary so I’m going to go with that: A mediterranean cruise starting in Spain, sailing through France, Italy, Greece, and ending in Morocco.
FEET: Currently, Ferragamo black and camel ballet flats; Essie polish in Movers and Shakers.
NIGHTSTAND: Reader’s Digest, an alarm clock, chapstick, and a bottled water.
GO-TO-MENU: Marie Catribs- anything. Ju Sushi. Pizza Hut thin-crust pepperoni pizza when I’m feeling like a lazy slob.
BED: Jonathan Adler Nixon throw, too many pillow.
WISH LIST: New luggage and a new hip (I’m getting old).
PHONE SCREEN SAVER: A picture of Scout the first day we brought her home from the Humane Society.
BOOKSHELF: David Sedaris, Cookbooks, Art and Fashion books, and pretty magazines.
TV IN THE MORNING: I don’t usually watch TV in the morning but if it’s on it’s either Today or ESPN.
REFRIGERATOR DOOR: A calendar of our events for the current month, business card from Doggy Day Care, a picture of Joe and I at the Big House when MSU beat U of M. It was a glorious day and we had amazing seats but the best part of the picture is the sun shining down on the scoreboard in the background and all of the U of M fans leaving the sadium with their heads down and their tails between their legs. Go Green.
INSTAGRAM: My Instagram is pretty much consumed by pictures of Scout and fashion/showrooms/travel. Every once in a while I will get domestic and post a food picture. What’s NOT on my Instagram? Selfies!
LIQUOR SHELF: Tequila, Tito’s Vodka.
KITCHEN COUNTER: Always bananas, avocado, and apples. A wishbone Joe and I are waiting to snap.
PERENNIAL TO-DO LIST: Taking my clothes to consignment!! The pile never seems to go away.
WORDS-TO-LIVE-BY LIST: It is better to be absolutely ridiculous than boring.
